The EIB recruits new staff: EIB expands environmental department by 10 000 percent

The European Investment Bank has yesterday simbolically inagurated its new building that will be fully operational next November.

The new building will host the environmental and social departments for which the bank is recruiting 400 new staff by the end of the year. The decision comes in coherence with the new sustainable trend announced by the bank. The existing department of four people is currently assessing the impacts of projects worth around EUR 45 billion per year supported by the bank. “The environmental department’s job will be a lot easier now we decided to finance social and environmental friendly projects, but sustainable development projects require new dedicated expertise” said EIB spokesperson Albrecht Pressesprecher.

“It was already obvious that we cannot properly assess the environmental and social impacts of any kind of projects with only four people in the department, but the new commitments impose a radical staff revision”, she continued.A new job opportunity in the city of Luxembourg.
